- CEDA is proud to announce the completion of 50 women-owned self-help businesses, with a collective investment of 2.5 million birr. These businesses, ranging from animal farming and poultry to traditional brewing and mobile retail, are already making a significant impact. Entrepreneurs are experiencing a projected 25% increase in annual income, while local economies are thriving with the increased availability of goods and services. On August 17, 2024, CEDA’s local volunteers organized a gathering of successful micro-entrepreneurs. Diaspora lenders attended the event, learning firsthand about the positive impact their support has had on these businesses. Distinguished guests, including representatives from the Mayor’s office, Axum Tsion Church, and local commerce and tourism offices, were also in attendance to celebrate the success of these ventures. CEDA is creating lasting, positive change—one entrepreneur at a time.
